Interview with Giriraj Damani : India Top Digital Marketer

Giriraj Damani  is an engineer by training and has been an entrepreneur for the past three years. He has been successful in many different fields, such as banking and public relations. But his never-ending interest in social media led him to start a business called Green Digital.

This isn’t the end of the story! He not only started Green Digital, but he has also trained many professionals from groups like FICCI, AMA, and FISME. He has also organised and led workshops for employees of companies like SBI, NTPC, L&T-PBEL, CNN IBN, Hindustan Times, and many others. Not only that, but he also managed to start India’s first student social network, called AssetAmbassador.com. He has also run successful social media campaigns for well-known brands like FIFA India, Imagine Apple, Educational Initiative, Oink Store, Just for Hearts, Integra Profit, etc. He is also one of the most energetic trainers and consultants in the business, and he works as a Lead Trainer for Digital Marketing Training at Digital Guru. His work and opinions were always taken seriously by publications like Business Standards, Times of India-NBT, Dataquest, Asian Age, The Sunday Indian Magazine, and many others.

Digital Guru: How did you get into Digital Marketing?

Giriraj Damani : One of our UK-based clients asked us to help them with “social media.” At the time, our PR team had never heard of this term. We did some research, got started, and slowly saw how good it could be.

Digital Guru: Why do you think it’s important for business owners, people who work in marketing, and students to learn about Digital Marketing today?

Giriraj Damani : Digital marketing is quickly becoming an essential part of any marketing plan. What’s more, a brand or an individual can do so much more with digital media. So, it’s important for people from all walks of life to learn about and study digital marketing so they can come up with new ideas for their companies, improve their careers, and keep up with how the world is changing. Digital marketing will soon be an important skill for any professional to have.

Digital Guru: What kinds of Digital Marketing training programmes do you run at Digital Guru? Feel free to tell us about any interesting things that have happened to you at Digital Guru.

Giriraj Damani : I lead social media sessions at Digital Guru. There have been a lot of interesting things that have happened, but the most interesting thing is how much most of the students want to learn about digital marketing, understand it, and use it. From college students to mid-level professionals to senior managers in different fields, it’s amazing to see how many people are interested in digital marketing.

Digital Guru: Please tell us about your experience teaching a course online with a live teacher. Is it really a good and interesting way to communicate?

Giriraj Damani : Surprisingly, it has turned out to be a very good way to do things. And more than how I as a trainer have dealt with the format, it’s about how the participants have dealt with it. By the second class, everyone is as comfortable as if it were a workshop that took place in person.
